User guide

  1. In Convert, choose Add videos or Add a folder. Folder import includes subfolders.
  2. Choose Video or Audio and an output format. Smaller file, Balanced and Higher quality set video/audio bitrate to 2 Mb/s + 128 kb/s, 4 Mb/s + 192 kb/s and 8 Mb/s + 320 kb/s respectively. They do not change the selected resolution or frame rate.
  3. Open Advanced settings only when you need resolution, frame rate, manual bitrate, audio track, sample rate or muted video. Changing bitrate selects Custom.
  4. Use the folder icon beside the conversion button to choose the output folder and approve Android access. Import and output access may require separate grants.
  5. Tap Convert. Follow current work in Queue and completed results in History. Open or Share a completed result. The app can continue in the background; progress is available in its notification.

Size and quality

The total output size is an approximation from duration and target bitrate, with a small container allowance. It is not a guaranteed size. Some formats, missing metadata and lossless output cannot be estimated this way. The result may be larger than the source. Original resolution or frame rate does not mean the compressed media is copied unchanged. Upscaling cannot restore detail.

HDR and format limits

Recognized PQ and HLG video is tone-mapped to standard dynamic range (BT.709 SDR). HDR and Dolby Vision metadata are not preserved. Dolby Vision profile 5 video conversion and ProRes RAW are not supported by this release. Actual iPhone Dolby Vision footage has not been certified. HEVC output requires compatible device hardware; supported resolution and frame rate vary.

One video stream and one selected audio track are exported. Subtitles and alpha transparency are not preserved. Track choices do not guarantee that every numbered track exists in the input; selecting a missing track causes an error. DRM-protected media is unsupported. Format support depends on the actual codecs and file integrity, not just the extension.

Storage and interruption

Allow space for an input working copy, working output and exported result. Originals remain unchanged. Cancellation removes incomplete output. Interrupted jobs may need retrying. Select the file or folder again if access has expired.

The app interface supports 20 languages. Select the guide language using the language menu.
